Evolution of Fusarium Head Blight Management in Wheat: Scientific Perspectives on Biological Control Agents and Crop Genotypes Protocooperation

چکیده

Over the past century, economically devastating Fusarium Head Blight (FHB) disease has persistently ravished small grain cereal crops worldwide. Annually, losses globally are in billions of United States dollars (USD), with common bread wheat and durum accounting for a major portion these losses. Since unforgettable FHB epidemics 1990s early 2000s North America, different management strategies have been employed to treat this disease. However, even some best practices including chemical fungicides innovative breeding technological advances that given rise spectrum moderately resistant cultivars, still remains an obstinate problem farms globally. This is part due several constraints such as complex species struggle develop employ methods can effectively combat more than one pathogenic line or simultaneously. review highlights last 100 years US Canada, well evolution strategies, recent progress resistance cultivar development. It also takes look at protocooperation between specific biocontrol agents genotypes promising tool combatting FHB.

Influence of Crop Rotation and Cover Crop on Fusarium Head Blight of Wheat

Fusarium head blight (FHB) of small grains tends to be associated with certain environmental conditions, especially rain-induced wetness periods occurring near anthesis. A Geographic Information System-based model simulation which incorporates 4km resolution weather radar (NEXRAD)-derived precipitation estimates into a crop canopy energy balance-based scheme to estimate wetness duration periods...

Altered Gene Expression Profiles of Wheat Genotypes against Fusarium Head Blight

Fusarium graminearum is responsible for Fusarium head blight (FHB), which is a destructive disease of wheat that makes its quality unsuitable for end use. To understand the temporal molecular response against this pathogen, microarray gene expression analysis was carried out at two time points on three wheat genotypes, the spikes of which were infected by Fusarium graminearum. The greatest numb...

Assessing Fungicide Efficacies for the Management of Fusarium Head Blight on Spring Wheat and Barley

Small grains crop yield and quality losses resulting from Fusarium head blight (FHB) continue to threaten the economic sustainability of many small grains producers in Minnesota. Spring wheat breeders have made some progress in developing cultivars with moderate levels of disease resistance, but increased resistance in barley has not been achieved. Crop rotation and a timely application of fung...
